The goal of the Gerontological Nursing Association of Ontario is to promote quality nursing care for older adults; to enhance the professional growth of our members through continuing education, to support research related to gerontological nursing and to advocate for comprehensive and accessible services for older adults..

Why Join?
This provincial association offers its members networking opportunities with other professionals who share similar interest and enthusiasm for this unique area of practice; educational opportunities, a strong voice for advocacy; and Perspectives, a quality peer-reviewed quarterly journal.
Local Chapters
There are ten chapters throughout Ontario. Each chapter holds regular meetings for members as well as educational events and activities to enhance your professional practice. In addition, the annual conference is hosted by chapters on a rotational basis.

Membership Categories:
Regular Member/Retired Member: A Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse (has full voting privileges and may hold any chapter office*).
Associate Member: (not registered with
the CNO): Anyone interested in the Association – includes HCAs and PSWs (may hold any chapter office other than President, Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer*).
Student Associate:
Any
undergraduate nursing student enrolled at an accredited institution
in the Province of Ontario, studying toward an RN or RPN designation
with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). (NEW
IN 2009-2010!
Any student associate with the RNAO or RPNAO, may become a student
associate of the GNA without payment of fee.
Membership information must still be completed in full and submitted
either directly to the GNA or through RNAO/RPNAO).
* All members must comply with the regulations of the Association.
